Pioneer Looks to the Future with New Line of Car Stereos

Pioneer’s USA Division has announced that it will be introducing a range car stereo models that will meet the growing demand of MP3 playback. The new range will allow you to connect many models of portable music player directly to your car stereo.

The new line will include eight models with USB or Bluetooth compatibility and six models that will have iPod connectivity, with the entire line compatible with XM® or SIRIUS® Satellite Radio. Pioneer has not yet confirmed if and when this new range will receive a European launch.

Larry Rougas, Vice President of Marketing and Product Planning said “The car has become as much of a hub for entertainment and communication as the home or office. Pioneer is making that process easier for consumers with stereos that easily connect to portable music players, cell phones and even USB drives. The result is a more connected and happier consumer”.

The new range of Pioneer car stereos will use rotary command technology to control up to 90% of their features and functions, helping you to retrieve files quickly and easily.

This comes on the back of Pioneer launching its new range of Pro Series subwoofers for the car, which was showcased for the first time at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show recently. The 10” and 12” PRO series subwoofers are the most advanced speakers that Pioneer have developed, and use the brand’s exclusive “Air Suspension” technology,, allowing them to be installed in smaller enclosures whilst still delivering a low and accurate bass output.

“Air Suspension” technology replaces the conventional spider used in many subs. The spider is replaced by a second cone that traps or ‘sandwiches’ the air between the front and secondary cone, reducing the size of the enclosure by around 70%.

The subwoofer is also made using a Composite IMPP Cone Using Interlaced Carbon Fibre to produce a strong and rigid cone capable of low and accurate bass sound output.
